POSITION SUMMARY:  

Responsible for leading a group of workers, assisting the Robotics Superintendent in organizing workload, labor force, scheduling of work, planning, etc.

Daily operation of the robotic welding work cells to fabricate metallic parts or assemblies, applying basic knowledge of welding theory, procedures, and basic mathematics. Responsible for the operation of computer controlled machines or robots to perform one or more machine functions.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:   

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience with ARC Welding, to include GMAW/FCAW is required.

At least one year of direct robotic operator experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   

Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity. Must be able to walk to and from job sites.  The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks.  The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist   and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.  May be required to work more than 8-hour with occasional weekend work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:   While in production areas will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
