Quality Assurance-KVI

Location: Seattle, WA

Essential Functions
Assists in providing all necessary QA training given to new and existing employees

Assists in maintaining the inspection and testing procedures, ensures testing is in compliance with design and contractual requirements and coordinates with outside customer and required regulatory inspectors

Performs daily inspection of all vessels for boat building techniques, parts alignment, appearance, fairness and ensure QC standards are met

May review drawings with engineering/design for general build-ability and make decisions regarding construction techniques and acceptance criteria as related to quality standards

Develops and/or adapts inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, makes suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality

Responsible for the compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records

Ensure proper investigation and reporting on root causes and non-conformance issues, compiles and communicates discrepancies to production staff

Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices

Oversees the inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to assure that quality control standards are achieved

Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation

Compares product with parts list or engineering drawings and contract specifications to ensure completion of construction

Verify specified dimension of product or materials

Interprets engineering drawing and confers with project managers, engineering or production management to determine quality and reliability standards

Performs tests at specified stages in production process, and test for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics

Maintain the quality related records for the organization

Perform required periodic system audits and report to upper management

Ability to assist with launching, hauling, testing of completed boats

Must have ability to travel and work autonomously at remote sites during boat deliveries, customer training efforts and warranty support

Job Requirements                

            Required Qualifications:

            High School Diploma or Equivalent

            Minimum of 4 years as a QA professional or equivalent work experience

            Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite                       

            Preferred Qualifications

            Government contracting experience preferred

Level 1 NACE/SSPC Inspector preferred           

            Physical Demands (typical):

            Standing and sitting for long periods of time

            Maneuvering in tight places, uneven floor areas

            Climbing up and down ladders, ramps and stairs

            Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs. intermittently; lifting objects weighing over 50 lbs. with assistance               

Working Conditions

Office and highly industrialized manufacturing environments

Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors

Must be able to handle multiple priorities and tight time frames

Some travel will be required
