HR Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: 
Under the supervision of the HR Services Manager, this position will help provide analytical support to the human resource team using the organizations human resource information system(s), applicant tracking and other such similar systems. This will include a focus on leveraging the systems for process improvement while ensuring data integrity and security. This position will help develop and maintain user and training materials and will ensure that all end users are properly trained. This position will have an advanced level of reporting and analytics of HR data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the jobís overall responsibilities) 

  1. Supports the flow of Human Resource related information to include data entry, routing auditing, retrieval and generation of needed standard and ad-hoc reports.
  2. Supports data integrity and maintains internal company systems for values, codes, tables and security.
  3. Coordinates with other departments such as payroll, IT, Operations etc. to ensure data integrity and to help support Human Resource data needs for those departments.
  4. Develops and/or maintains training material and conducts training for end-users as need be
  5. Oversees compiling data for claims management and/or litigation.
  6. Recommends system improvements and/or additional applications to improve efficiency of the human resource department.
  7. Provides consultation to other Human Resource professionals, managers etc. in terms of basic Human Resource related compliance issues.
  8. Collect, analyze and prepare data in support of various Human Resource programs including compensation, collective bargaining and/or federal or state mandated reporting requirements.
  9. Helps to develop and maintain various reports, interfaces and/or file feeds to vendors and partners.
  10. Acts as HR subject matter expert for prevailing wage.
  11. Keeps abreast of new techniques and developments in Human Resource systems and Compliance by maintaining contact with others in the field.
  12. Understands and leads by the core Vigor values.

JOB SCOPE:
This job is performed with considerable flexibility for initiating improvements and exercising independent decision making within the assigned functional area of responsibility. Independent judgment is used in maintaining the HRIS, ensuring compliance with all Human Resource laws and regulations and managing internal and external resources as needed. The work is performed with limited daily supervision under the broad oversight and management of the HR Services Manager.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
The position is expected to interact with employees at all levels throughout the company as well as with vendors and others encountered in the course of the work.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalency Certificate) required.

Bachelorís Degree in Information Technology, Business or Human Resources or other closely related field preferred.

Two to three (2-3) years of directly related Human Resource Information System and/or Human Resource Compliance experience required, preferably Kronos or similar system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. There may be times where the individual will be in production areas. The incumbent must be able to walk to and from job sites. Also, the person may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work. On occasions the incumbent may be required to lift up to 20 pounds. There may be the need to travel up to 25% of the time and/or out-of-town (including air travel). WORK ENVIRONMENT:
