Job Title: CNC Programmer

Department: Production

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Machine Shop Programming Manager

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Based at our Clackamas facility (Formerly Oregon Iron Works), you’ll be part of a dynamic team of innovative thinkers programming our state-of-the-art CNC equipment supporting manufacturing for a wide array of industries including the Hydro power, Nuclear, and Defense industries amongst other.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Proficient with Master Cam 2017 and/or NX 11
  •  Able to calculate feeds and speeds
  •  Needs to be able to create solid models from blue prints or sketches
  •  Create tool sheets, machining procedures and detailed setup sheets
  •  Reading and understanding G&M code

JOB SCOPE:  Working in a team environment, programming 3 Axis mills, with the opportunity to advance into programming our multi axis equipment. Must use sound judgment and independent decision making when carrying out job responsibilities. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:       None

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  •  Excellent attention to detail
  •  Must have knowledge of GD&T
  •  Knowledge of tool geometry and tool selection for the job
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend work specifications, work orders, blueprints.
  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required 
  • Minimum 3 Years programming experience required 
  • Previous Machining experience required with carbon, stainless and aluminum materials 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:    None required.
