POSITION SUMMARY:

As a key member of the finance team, the Reporting Analyst is responsible for: (i) BI reporting of Vigorís production metrics; and (ii) financial reporting of Vigorís internal financial reports. Vigor uses Tableau for BI reporting, Host Analytics for financial reporting, and a data warehouse. The Reporting Analyst will report to the Director of Accounting & Finance, and work closely with business managers, IT, and the accounting department. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Own the process to produce Tableau and financial reports.
  2. Liaise with internal customers to understand business need and translate into reports.
  3. Translate data into information. Convert complex data into easy-to-understand output.
  4. Work with IT to produce tables and views necessary to support reports.
  5. Manage security of Tableau reports including onboarding of new users.
  6. Work with IT to ensure successful Tableau upgrades.
  7. Ensure that all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately.
  8. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

JOB SCOPE:  

Operates within general parameters but must use sound judgment and independent decision making when carrying out job responsibilities. The role reports to the Director of Accounting & Finance, who is based in Portland, OR.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

The position is an individual contributor.


INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

The Reporting Analyst coordinates his/her efforts with managers and supervisors at all levels in the company. The position represents the Company through formal and informal interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Face-to-face meetings occur regularly.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage reports and reporting systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with BI reporting systems, such as Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos, Tibco, QlikView, or others.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems, such as Host Analytics, Crystal Reports, Hyperion, Cognos, or SAP.
  • SQL skills an advantage but not required.
  • Experience working in a finance or accounting role preferred, but not required.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills given interaction with internal customers.
  • Must be able to exercise sound judgment, work well independently, prioritize duties, and follow through tasks to completion.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines effectively and respond well to last minute, high priority, time sensitive projects.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelorís degree in Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or other scientific field.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with BI and financial reporting tools in an enterprise environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting. The person may, on occasion, be required to be in production areas in a shipyard. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites and may be required to lift up to 20 pounds. The role may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work. There may be local and out-of-town travel up to 10% of the time (including air travel).
