Job Title: Warehouse Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor, in Dailey duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand work assignments and loading instructions as provided by the supervisor generate load list as material is being loaded in and out of the warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks or rail cars efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to handle and stack material in a safe manner, familiar with crane and sling capacity, and using all slings, clamps, and other lifting devices in a proper and safe manner.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP inventory systems

JOB SCOPE: 

This job is performed within established procedures using a variety of computer applications and office equipment.  The work consists of fairly standard procedures and tasks where basic analytical ability is required. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None 

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: 

Interactions are internal and external, working closely with purchasing staff as well as shipping/receiving/warehouse performing daily job functions.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite software products
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding daily functions, and regulations, and possible hazardous conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or maneuver objects, difficult objects will be lifted with the assistance of mechanical means or additional manpower. (Standup Forklift) 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Capable of working off ladders and scaffolding.
  • May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions.  Proper protective equipment will be provided as necessary.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required.  Associates degree in business-related field desired.

A minimum of three years of working in a warehouse at a fabrication or production facility. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: 

None Required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced boat building environment with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity.  Will be required to be in production areas in shops and the yard.  Must be able to walk to and from job sites.  May be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work.  May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.  Local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
