Essential Functions:
Oversee the outfitting department responsible for the installation of mechanical systems on newly constructed aluminum vessels. Mechanical system installations include, but are not limited to:

Hydraulics                                                          Acoustical insulation                           Engine installs

Perform daily inspection of all aluminum vessels for effective outfit construction techniques, parts alignment, correct materials, appearance, tolerances and ensure QC standards are met.

Review drawings with engineering/design and the outfit leads for general build-ability and make decisions regarding aluminum boat construction techniques and acceptance criteria.

Coordinate outfitting construction with Trade Leads, Project Managers and the Production Manager. Direct work goals and assess completed work, at times in multiple locations both local and remote.

Manages and coordinates materials to include appropriate set up and inventory prior to construction start up for each stage of construction with each department to include purchasing and project management.

Manages personnel processes and procedures to include hiring, counseling, training and reviewing.

Responsible for the oversight of industrial hygiene and 5S principles in on-going work efforts.

Responsible for anticipating and maintaining in good order all outfitting specific tooling.

Maintain and update outfitting procedures and standards by keeping current with emerging technology. Establish and provide necessary training to new and existing outfitters.

Leads and sets the standards of the safety program for all production staff to insure alignment with company expectations.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:           
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of three years leadership and general management experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required

Minimum of seven years direct work experience with mechanical boat systems including diesel engines and hydraulic systems
Expert knowledge of all outfitting essential functions as related to aluminum boat construction
Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical systems

Physical Demands (typical):
Standing and sitting for long periods of time
Maneuvering in tight places, uneven floors
Climbing up and down ladders, ramps and stairs
Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50lbs.; lifting objects weighing over 50lbs. with assistance

Working Conditions:
Highly industrial manufacturing environment
Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors
Various working hours required
