Essential Functions:

  • Experience working with aluminum plate, Tee bar, Flat bar, Square tube, pipe, tube and other extrusions.
  • Able to mark, scribe, cut, bend and install aluminum proficiently to close tolerances (+/- 1/16) a necessity.
  • Can read blueprints and drawings, interprets specifications and materials and can work with limited supervision producing first time quality results.
  • Performs layout and correctly configures, cuts and fits complex parts and shapes using blueprints, drawings, sketches, templates on existing structures or materials.
  • Understands how to use a push/pull aluminum welding machine to produce quality tack welds in the assembly and building process of aluminum.
  • Tools operated daily include;   routers, air tools, to include die grinders, cutting tools drills, reciprocating saw circular / chop / band and tables saws, drill motors, drill presses and other power tools.

Advanced Functions: These are preferred skills not essential functions.

- Break press         
- Shear            
- 3D CAD computer skills
- Iron worker                              
- Crane                     
- Fork lift     

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.  
Minimum of one year with various forms of fabrication in the metal trades required

Boat building experience highly preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrable skills utilizing push/pull welding machines.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.

Ability to use typical shop fabrication devices such as tri-squares, levels and tape measures.           

Experienced with shop mathematics

Experienced safe and effective operation of power tools

Physical Demands (typical):
Maneuvering in tight places, uneven floors

Climbing up and down ladders, ramps and stairs

Standing for long periods of time

Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs. intermittently; lifting objects weighing over 50 lbs. with assistance

Working Conditions:
Highly industrial manufacturing environment

Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors

Occasional overtime required

Various shift work required
