Job Title: PRESS BRAKE/ROLL OPERATOR                         

Department: Production               

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly                    

Reports To: Foreman

Revision Date:7-10-2017                                   

  

POSITION SUMMARY: 

  • Produce parts operating press brake or roll machine, per company and contract specifications and dimensions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Responsible for machine set-up and operation.
  • Ability to do own layout for forming as needed
  • Operate hydraulic or mechanical brakes, maintain same, and keep in good working order. Must know capacity and limitations.
  • Fabricate parts per specifications utilizing Press Brake or Roll machines. Understand where parts will fit in production and accurately bend, roll, etc. to measurements.
  • Read and interpret sketches, work orders, or assignments (written or verbal), set up machine, perform with speed and accuracy with limited instructions from supervisor.

  • Follows direction from supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:None

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding daily functions, safety rules and regulations, and possible hazardous conditions.
  • Ability to instruct helper(s) assigned to the job as needed.

  

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate hydraulic or mechanical brakes, maintain same, and keep in good working order. Must know capacity and limitations.
  • Ability to read  and interpret sketches, work orders, or assignments (written or verbal), set up machine, perform with speed and accuracy with limited instructions from supervisor.
  • Capable of keeping work area clean and safe, and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
  • Strong math and geometry knowledge
  • Ability to figure material stretch-out and bend locations as needed, or aptitude to learn 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Min. 3 Yrs. Experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

N/A

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, carry 60Lbs., or maneuver objects, difficult objects will be lifted with  the assistance of mechanical means or additional manpower.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
  • Capable of working from ladders and scaffolding.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

  • May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided as necessary.
