Receiving Inspector- QC Part Time

Department: Quality
Location: Clackamas, OR

Vigor is currently recruiting for Receiving Inspector- QC Part time. This position would be around 20 to 25 hours a week. Successful candidates will have a strong familiarity with nondestructive testing (NDT) theory and techniques, quality control and receiving inspection.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Knowledge in nondestructive testing theory and techniques
  • Knowledge/Background in Receiving Inspection
  •  Basic understanding of American Welding Society (AWS) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) welding codes.
  •  Dimensional inspection and Measuring and Testing Equipment (M&TE) Usage
  • Ability to work independently to established procedures
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Basic computer skills

Candidates with the following abilities/certifications are preferred:

  • Training in accordance with American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level I or II in one or more of the following disciplines:
    • Ultrasonic Testing /Shear wave
    • Magnetic Particle Testing / Yoke method
    • Dye Penetrant Testing
    • Radiographic Testing
    • Radiographic film interpretation
  • Current American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • Experience conducting and witnessing welding procedure qualification and welder qualification
  • Experience with fabrication and welding processes

Physical Demands: 

  • Physical demands of position will require the ability to maneuver in a shop or yard assembly environment. Extensive walking and standing, climbing on ladders, scaffolding, couching, twisting, and stooping are often encountered. Must be able to assist with the manipulation of tooling and equipment.
  • The work environment can be physically demanding as well as in the proximity of moving equipment and cranes. Constant awareness of peripheral activity is necessary, with a mindfulness of not only personal safety, but the safety of people in the vicinity, and product and shop equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
